Hi! Welcome to my blog!

Hannah Newborn: I am not a native Texan. I moved to Texas about 7 years ago and I just moved to Austin a year ago. I have to admit I have not kept up with any news or politics whatsoever in awhile (which was obvious after my General and Political Knowledge Quiz scores) and therefore have not yet formed many of my own opinions on current issues. From the little that I do know though, I believe many changes need to be made in our government. My entire family is very Republican, so all I heard were Conservative ideas growing up, but I see myself more as somewhere in the middle of the spectrum, probably leaning slightly right. I'm a very open-minded person and like to hear both sides of a story before making a judgement. I have no experience with any political activities and have not yet voted. Even though I cringed when I discovered this class was a requirement in my degree plan, I'm actually becoming interested in what I can learn this semester. I want to know more about the way things are run in my city, state, and country and I hope to begin to understand the political processes better.
